According to PANews on September 25, Yuga Labs Blockchain Vice President Quit posted that at 9:00 EDT today, someone exploited the Payment Processor V2 vulnerability to steal 10 Meebits, 50 Otherdeeds, 10 WoW and 235 Desperate Apewives. It learned of the incident 12 hours later and discovered that a large number of NFTs were also affected by the vulnerability. It then worked with the LimitBreak team to urgently suspend Payment Processor V3, which had similar vulnerabilities, and used white hat actions to protect V2 and related assets on ApeChain that could not be suspended. In the end, a total of 23,155 NFTs were rescued, with a total value of more than $5.7 million. In addition, the team discovered that the vulnerability could also be exploited in reverse to steal WETH. A total of 660 WETH were at risk, but could not be recovered in time. The relevant NFTs have been safely transferred, and holders will be able to retrieve their assets after revoking the vulnerable authorization.
