Polymarket launches five-minute cryptocurrency up-or-down prediction market on its U.S. platform

Prediction platform Polymarket launched five-minute cryptocurrency up-or-down betting contracts on its regulated U.S. platform. The platform is operated by QCX LLC and regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Traders can bet on whether assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP close above or below their starting price within five minutes. A correct prediction pays $1 per share, while an incorrect one goes to zero, structurally similar to binary options, lowering the threshold for short-term derivatives trading.

At the time of the product's launch, the CFTC is re-examining whether Polymarket complies with the terms of its 2022 settlement and is focusing on customer protection measures on its U.S. platform. Prior research had pointed out potential settlement manipulation risks in the old five-minute contracts, and the platform has switched to a time-weighted average price (TWAP) settlement mechanism.

Axis Robotics denies that team or investor AXIS tokens were sold

Axis Robotics issued a statement regarding the sell-off of $AXIS on October 28-29. Axis Robotics emphasized that tokens belonging to the team or investors were not sold. The allocations of the core team and investors (as well as all other locked allocations, accounting for 83.5% of the total supply) remain in vesting contracts jointly managed with Binance. The tokens sold this time came from the initial circulating supply portion of the published tokenomics, specifically the "ecosystem" allocation. Because many ecosystem participants are not crypto-native users, their allocations were delivered through a single over-the-counter (OTC) counterparty; the written agreement signed by both parties included lock-up clauses.

Judging from the selling pattern (tokens were sold through exchange deposit channels via hundreds of newly created addresses within hours after delivery), this most likely means that the OTC counterparty sold these tokens on the open market. If true, this action has breached the agreement between the two parties. The team has currently suspended all further cooperation with the counterparty, is reviewing the relevant agreement with legal counsel, and will seek all feasible remedies under the agreement framework.

Earlier reports said that according to on-chain detective ZachXBT, insider addresses of Axis Robotics (AXIS) sold off tokens, causing the token to plunge about 40%.

Binance hot wallet attacked, estimated total losses approximately $6.3 billion, approximately $3 billion frozen on-chain

Binance released a security incident update, and its preliminary investigation shows that the security incident may involve the compromise of a DevOps engineer's laptop, which allowed the attacker to access a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. Binance said it has found no evidence of any wallet private key leakage and will publish a detailed technical post-mortem after the investigation is completed and the facts are fully verified.

Binance estimates total losses at approximately $6.3 billion and has worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with approximately $3 billion already frozen on-chain. Binance will bear all losses through the SAFU fund and corporate funds, user funds are safe, and it will publish updated proof of reserves after remediation is completed. As an immediate preventive measure, Binance has temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals, revoked authorizations for affected addresses, and is working with law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Binance said it is working around the clock and cooperating closely with law enforcement partners to identify the attacker.

Previously, various projects also tweeted comments or clarifications on related risk exposure.
