SpaceX will attempt to recover both Starship and its booster simultaneously for the first time next month.

PANews October 21 news, according to The Verge, SpaceX CEO Musk announced at the company's third-quarter earnings call that SpaceX will next month attempt for the first time to use the launch tower to catch the Starship spacecraft and the Super Heavy booster, achieving recovery of the entire orbital launch system. Musk said that if successful, this would be the first fully reusable orbital launch vehicle in history. He stated that this attempt is "not guaranteed to succeed," but that success is more likely, and that test flights will continue through the end of the year, with the frequency accelerating next year. In last month's Starship launch, one Raptor engine shut down early, the mission was shortened from the planned 6 laps to 2, and neither stage was recovered.
