ZachXBT: An institution is suspected of having $2.84 million stolen by the North Korea-linked group SquidSquad.

PANews October 21 news: On-chain detective ZachXBT posted that an institution is suspected to have been hacked on October 8 on BNB Smart Chain (BSC) by the North Korea-linked group SquidSquad for approximately $2.84 million.

According to his tracking, the attacker deposited 1,111.2 ETH into Tornado Cash on October 20, then withdrew it to three addresses, and subsequently bridged the funds from Ethereum to Tron via USDT0, consolidating them into two addresses. The aforementioned consolidation addresses are all financially linked to addresses previously attributed to North Korea. The funds then flowed within minutes through intermediary addresses to Chinese over-the-counter (OTC) traders, and ZachXBT believes this move may have been intended to evade a potential Tether fund freeze.
