Lighter launches an EVM development network built in collaboration with Axiom.

PANews October 16 news: Lighter announced the launch of the Lighter EVM devnet. This is an EVM-equivalent Rollup built in collaboration with Axiom, powered by OpenVM, and running in parallel with Lighter Core. The two are designed to settle jointly to Ethereum via a single ZK proof. Developers can use Foundry, Hardhat, Viem, and Ethers to deploy contracts, read Lighter Core account, balance, position, order, and market data, place, modify, and cancel orders through smart contracts, and transfer assets between devnet L1, Lighter Core, and Lighter EVM. Lighter is currently opening access in batches and plans to open it to all developers in the coming weeks.
