BlackRock upgrades U.S. Treasuries, ending nearly six-year underweight stance

PANews October 14 news: The BlackRock Investment Institute announced in its latest report that it has upgraded its allocation rating for U.S. Treasuries and favors short-term Treasuries, citing the potential investment returns becoming more attractive after a sharp rise in U.S. Treasury yields.

BlackRock strategists said: "Higher yields, and market expectations for Fed tightening that may be overpriced, have created room for us to adjust our underweight stance on U.S. Treasuries." BlackRock has downgraded U.S. equities to neutral while increasing allocations to U.S. Treasuries of different maturities, but overall still prefers short-term bonds.
