Goldman Sachs: HBF is expected to break the AI "memory wall," with a potential market size of up to $150 billion.

PANews October 13 news: Goldman Sachs released a research report pointing out that with the rapid growth of AI inference demand, insufficient storage capacity is becoming an important bottleneck constraining computing efficiency. New NAND technologies such as high-bandwidth flash (HBF) are expected to alleviate this "memory wall" problem and significantly reduce AI infrastructure costs. The bank estimates that with GPU adoption rates of 15% to 50%, the potential market size of HBF could reach $40 billion to $150 billion.

Goldman Sachs is bullish on the HBF technology leadership advantages of SanDisk and SK Hynix, maintaining a "Buy" rating on both companies; Samsung Electronics is also expected to benefit. By contrast, Micron, due to its business focus on DRAM and HBM, is less likely to benefit directly, and its rating is maintained at "Neutral."
