Lummis Criticizes Democrats for Opposing the CLARITY Act, Which Includes Crypto Retail Investor Protections

PANews October 13 news: U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis posted on X that Democrats previously demanded the establishment of a dedicated body at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to give a voice to retail investors in crypto assets, and the CLARITY Act already includes an arrangement to establish a "Retail Commodity Investor Advocate Office." She criticized Democrats for still voting against the bill, arguing that this move obstructs the protection of retail investors through a dedicated CFTC advocate mechanism.
