Iran’s Foreign Minister: Willing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days, but requires meeting relevant conditions

PANews reported on September 25 that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters on Thursday during the United Nations General Assembly in New York that Iran has proposed a plan to the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. Araghchi said that the plan will be advanced based on the memorandum of understanding reached by the two countries in June this year, but will only be implemented if certain conditions are met. He said: "I think it would be better if this could be completed before the U.S. midterm elections. But it depends on the decision of the U.S. government." Araghchi also said that Iran does not care about the specific timetable and is not in a hurry to advance the process.
