Zhao Changpeng’s latest interview: He was once imprisoned in the same prison as the SBF

ChainCatcher news, according to the New York Times, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao said in a latest interview that he was once placed in the Lompoc II low-security prison in California, which later also imprisoned FTX founder SBF.

Before reporting to prison, Zhao Changpeng assembled a team of advisers who taught him the subtle rules of prison cell politics. One of the counselors also corresponded with other prisoners, who agreed to help Zhao Changpeng adapt to life in prison.

In August 2024, Zhao Changpeng left Lompok Prison and moved to a halfway house. But problems with his immigration status forced him to spend the last two weeks in a local jail, doing push-ups and sit-ups in his cell to pass the time. On the day of his release, only 26 minutes passed from the time Zhao Changpeng was released from custody to the time his private plane took off.
