OpenAI will reopen the $200 Pro subscription tomorrow, and the new plan will reduce API usage by about half.

PANews reported on September 29 that OpenAI Codex product manager Tibo stated that the $200 monthly Pro subscription plan will be reopened to new users tomorrow, but the usage calculation method will be adjusted; based on API expenditures, the available quota corresponding to the new plan is approximately half of the old Pro $200 plan.

Tibo said that OpenAI will not reintroduce the 5-hour usage limit, and users can still use the weekly quota as needed. As model efficiency increases and API prices decrease, the amount and quality of work that subscribers can accomplish per dollar will continue to increase. GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, launched this week, have dropped to half their previous prices. In addition, OpenAI will announce more subscription benefits that are not included in usage tomorrow.
