Robinhood stock tokens are digital securities that track an individual stock and are backed 1:1 by the corresponding stock held by a custodian. Since such tokens can circulate in the open crypto market, traders can form a liquidity pool with Meme coins and exchange them directly. This model makes stock exposure the "raw material" for on-chain speculative trading.
Bloomberg cited Dune data showing that the daily trading volume of stock tokens and Memecoin trading pairs reached about $440 million in early September, and then quickly fell back. RWA.xyz data shows that some of the popular stock tokens involve ETFs tracking the S&P 500 Index, NVIDIA, SpaceX and Meta, etc., with a combined market value of approximately US$69 million at one time.
Overall, this phenomenon on Robinhood Chain is reported as another application scenario for tokenized stocks: traditional stock exposure is beginning to be combined with Meme coins, liquidity pools, and on-chain speculative trading, and some trading prices may deviate significantly from real stocks.
