PANews October 19 news, according to Bloomberg, BlackRock stated that Wall Street's application of blockchain is shifting from simply "digitizing" stocks, bonds, and money market funds to changing how these assets circulate within the financial system, with a focus on enabling tokenized assets to serve as collateral, support 24/7 investor trading, and reduce redemption needs when transferring ownership. Dan Maley, its head of Asia-Pacific cash business, said that BlackRock's tokenized funds have already been used as collateral in digital asset markets, but expansion into traditional finance remains constrained by bank acceptance, market infrastructure, and regulatory certainty. Its first tokenized money market fund, BUIDL, has grown to approximately $2.3 billion since its launch in 2024; the company has launched tokenized cash products in the U.S. and Europe and in September received approval for a Hong Kong dollar digital liquidity fund.
BlackRock: Tokenized funds are accelerating their integration into Wall Street's underlying financial plumbing.
