PANews October 13 news, according to Bloomberg, hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger said it will re-examine its device sales policy, supply chain processes, and anti-tampering protection measures after some wallets were found to be implanted with spyware, with the related attacks causing estimated losses of more than $90 million in crypto assets.

Ledger Chief Technology Officer Charles Guillemet said in a post on social media on Tuesday that the company is evaluating its device sales process and anti-tampering mechanisms, and reminded users who suspect their devices have been tampered with to consult official security guidelines before disassembling the hardware, while also sending suspicious devices back to Ledger for further inspection.

Previously, multiple users reported theft of funds from Ledger wallets, with some affected devices linked to devices sold by Malaysian distributor CryptoBilis. According to disclosures by Galaxy Digital researchers, the incident involved hundreds of crypto addresses, with estimated losses exceeding $90 million.
