The Solana Alpenglow upgrade will go live on mainnet on October 21, reducing final confirmation time to about 150 milliseconds.

PANews October 13 news: The Solana development team Anza announced that the Alpenglow upgrade will go live on the mainnet-beta environment at approximately 14:50 UTC on October 21 (late evening Beijing time).

Anza stated that the Alpenglow upgrade underwent 18 months of development, and the mainnet migration will be completed within a single slot. After the upgrade is completed, Solana network finality is expected to be significantly reduced from the current several seconds to approximately 150 milliseconds.
