Nvidia’s bet on Reflection is finally about to be handed in, and the first open source model will be released

Beating AI news from Dongcha, Reflection, an AI startup backed by Nvidia, is preparing to release its first open source model. Axios quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that this model is expected to still lag behind the strongest closed-source models in the United States, but it can already compete with China's leading open-source models.

Reflection has invested heavily in this effort. The company raised US$2 billion last year and has continued to lock in large-scale computing power this year. The total contract with SpaceX reaches a maximum of approximately US$6.3 billion, and subsequently purchased more than US$1 billion in computing power from Nebius.

Reflection plans to package models, deployment software and computing power into an "AI factory" to allow enterprises and governments to use their own data to train and deploy private AI systems.
